Why there is residual silicone oil on the release film

Release film refers to the film that can be distinguished from the surface of the film. The release film does not have viscosity or slight viscosity after contacting with specific materials under limited conditions.

The silicone oil content of the release film is generally determined by the use of the product. Generally, the silicone oil content of the release film for die cutting is within the range of 0.10-0.20g/m2.

Why there is residual silicone oil on the release film

(1) The surface tension of silicone oil is small (easy to leak from the machine).

(2) The gas solubility of silicone oil is large (it is difficult to design gas sealing device).

(3) The thermal expansion coefficient of silicone oil is large (overpressure may occur).

(4) The lubricity of silicon oil is not good, especially for steel friction pairs.

(5) Certain hygroscopicity of silicone oil (after the water content is higher than 100 × 10-6, the electrical performance drops sharply)
