Overview of schools and Colleges
(1) School profile
Nanjing University of information engineering enjoys the reputation of "cradle of meteorological talents" and has a worldwide influence in the field of earth science. Its predecessor, Nanjing Institute of meteorology, was founded in 1960. In 1978, it was designated as a national key university by the State Council. In 2004, it was renamed Nanjing University of information engineering. In 2017, it was selected into the national "double first-class" construction university and Jiangsu high-level university construction university. At present, it has been jointly established by the people's Government of Jiangsu Province, the Ministry of education, the China Meteorological Administration, the State Oceanic Administration and the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Mechanism. The school is located at the north foot of Longwang mountain, the core area of Jiangbei new area (national level new area), Nanjing, with convenient transportation and beautiful scenery.
After nearly 60 years of development, the school has formed a good pattern of comprehensive and coordinated development of science, engineering, management, culture and art with atmospheric science as the center and information engineering as the focus. Now it has 6 first-class discipline doctoral programs, 22 first-class discipline master programs, 13 professional degree master programs, 70 undergraduate programs, and 4 post doctoral mobile stations. Atmospheric science ranks first in China in two consecutive rounds in the discipline evaluation of the Ministry of education. Four disciplines, including geoscience, engineering, computer science, environmental science and ecology, rank in the top 1% of ESI in the world. (2) College profile
The former of automation college is the Department of computer and information engineering established in 1993. In 2006, the college was adjusted to establish the school of information and control, which was renamed as automation college in September 2018. The college has five undergraduate majors: automation, measurement and control technology and instruments, electrical engineering and its automation, robotics, data science and big data technology; it has a first level discipline point of master's degree authorization of control science and engineering, and an electronic information specialty degree authorization point, and recruits doctoral students in information and communication engineering, meteorological information technology, lightning science and technology and other disciplines 。 The discipline of control science and engineering is rated as the key discipline of Jiangsu Province; the discipline of automation is rated as the national first-class professional construction site, the specialty with characteristics of Jiangsu Province and the key specialty of Jiangsu Province, and is selected into the provincial excellent engineer program; the discipline of measurement and control technology and instruments is the key specialty of Jiangsu Province.
The college has a "doctoral, international and professional" high-level faculty. At present, there are 103 teaching staff, including 83 full-time teachers and 8 full-time practical teaching managers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 19 professors, 27 associate professors, 12 doctoral supervisors and 60 postgraduate supervisors. The doctoral rate reaches 94%, and the proportion of teachers with more than one year's international background reaches 58%. Recruitment policy
