abstract
Nanjing University of information engineering is born on the basis of Meteorology and prospers on the basis of meteorology. It is a university with remarkable industry characteristics. Atmospheric science is the foundation and soul of Nanjing University of information engineering. Looking back on the development of Atmospheric Science in the past 60 years, through the efforts of several generations, adhering to reform, innovation and characteristic development, the brilliant achievements of atmospheric science have been made. In the 1960s, the atmospheric discipline was founded to serve the national meteorological cause. After the reform and opening up, it meets the needs of the development of China's meteorological cause, builds a complete discipline system, and makes significant contributions to the development of China and the world's meteorological cause. It has the reputation of "the cradle of China's Meteorological personnel training". Since the 21st century, discipline construction has been further accelerated. In 2017, atmospheric science was selected as the national "double first-class" construction discipline, opening a new journey of world-class discipline construction. Since then, in the new direction of historical development, Nanxin university has created a new blueprint for the development of atmospheric science, created a new highland of atmospheric science, and promoted the construction of atmospheric science into a new stage of high-quality development.

Guan Zhaoyong, Professor / doctoral supervisor, Secretary of the Party committee of Nanjing University of information engineering. At present, he is a member of the Steering Committee for specialty setting and teaching of institutions of higher learning of the Ministry of education, a former member of the atmospheric science group of the 6th-7th discipline evaluation group of the State Council, and a standing director of the 26th-27th Council of the Chinese meteorological society.
He has been engaged in atmospheric science teaching, meteorological science research and educational management for a long time. It mainly researches on atmospheric circulation dynamics, air sea interaction, extreme weather and climate, and has published more than 200 academic papers in important academic journals at home and abroad. The trilateral teleconnection mechanism of the Indian Ocean Dipole effect on the East Asian summer monsoon anomaly is revealed. He won the special prize for teaching achievements of Jiangsu Province and the special allowance of the State Council.
