Recently, Qingta made statistics on the number of general projects of national science and technology awards won by universities in 2016-2019 with the first completion unit. Among them, China Agricultural University ranks 11th in China with a total of 10 items.
The national science and technology award is reviewed once a year, including the National Natural Science Award, the National Technology Invention Award and the national science and technology progress award, which is commonly known as the "three national awards". In addition, it also includes the international science and Technology Cooperation Award of the People's Republic of China awarded to foreign scientists or foreign organizations, as well as the highest national science and technology award with the most weight. In 2019, China Agricultural University won the national science and Technology Award for 8 scientific and technological achievements. As the first completion unit, it won 1 second prize of National Technology Invention Award and 3 second prizes of national science and technology progress award.

Professor Li Jiansheng won the second prize of National Technology Invention Award for the project of "exploration and application of excellent genes for important nutritional quality of corn" and Professor Zhang Qin won the second prize of national science and Technology Progress Award for the project of "establishment and application of molecular breeding technology system for genome selection of Chinese Holstein cattle".
Since the new century, the Agricultural University of China has won 97 national science and technology awards, showing its strong scientific research strength.
