Huang Huai Hai Plain is one of the three major grain producing areas in China, which plays an important role in China's grain production. In this area, due to the long-term use of single rotary tillage unreasonable farming method, there are problems of soil performance degradation and production capacity decline. The results show that subsoiling can improve the physical and chemical properties of soil and increase the yield of crops, and the effect of rotation tillage mode formed by the combination of subsoiling, ploughing and rotary tillage on soil improvement and crop yield increase is more significant. However, the suitable subsoiling mode and rotation tillage mode are not clear, and the mechanism of soil characteristics and crop yield in the Huang Huai Hai Plain need to be explored.
Recently, Professor Zhang Dongxing and Professor Yang Li of the school of technology of China Agricultural University completed a research paper entitled "effects of subsoiling depth, period interval and combined tile practice on soil properties and yield in the Huang Hua Hai Plain, China", which was officially published in Journal of integrated agriculture (JIA) No. 6, 2020. In this study, the influence mechanism of subsoiling depth, subsoiling period and rotation tillage mode on soil properties and crop yield in the Huang Huai Hai Plain was analyzed, and the suitable subsoiling depth, subsoiling period and rotation tillage mode were selected successfully.
In this study, 7 treatments of annual cultivation of winter wheat summer maize were set up, and 3-year fixed-point experiments were carried out to study the effects of subsoiling depth (30, 35, 40 cm), cycle (2 or 3 years), rotation mode (rotary tillage or ploughing) on the structure of plough layer, physical properties of soil, alkaline nitrogen content of soil, crop yield and economic benefits. The results showed that the soil layer structure and physical properties could be significantly improved by the treatment of 35-40 cm deep subsoiling and 2-year cycle, but there was no significant difference between rotation tillage and rotary tillage; the annual yield and economic benefits could be significantly improved by the treatment of 35 cm deep subsoiling, 2-year cycle and rotary tillage; the physical properties, annual yield and economic benefits of the soil were integrated, and it was proposed that subsoiling 35 Cm, 2-year cycle and rotary cultivation are the suitable cultivation patterns in Huanghuaihai area.
