On March 30, the academic degree committee of the State Council released the list of degree authorization points added by the degree authorization independent auditing unit in 2019, and approved the independent auditing of Agricultural University of China to add the doctoral degree authorization points of the first level discipline of Marxist theory. In the list released this time, a total of 26 colleges and universities in China have independently reviewed and listed 33 authorized points for doctoral degree of first level discipline, among which 4 colleges and universities have newly added authorized points for doctoral degree of first level discipline of Marxist theory.
It is the practical need to implement the central requirements of running the ideological and political theory course in Colleges and universities, and it is also the urgent requirement of the country to cultivate high-level agricultural talents. The newly added doctoral degree authorization point of the first level discipline of Marxist theory has further optimized the discipline layout and resource allocation of our university, strengthened the advantages and characteristics of social science of our university, further promoted the development of graduate education of our university, and laid a solid foundation for building our university into a world-class agricultural University with Chinese characteristics.
In 2018, our university became one of the first 20 institutions in China to carry out independent review of degree authorization. According to the needs of discipline development, we can independently review and add one level-1 discipline doctoral degree authorization point each year. Marxist theory is the second authorized point of doctoral degree of the first level discipline in our university. The university will strengthen the quality supervision and management of the degree authorization point in accordance with the requirements of the connotative development of the discipline, and do a good job in the postgraduate training of the degree authorization point.
At present, our university has 22 first-class discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 32 first-class discipline master degree authorization points, 1 professional degree doctoral authorization category and 13 professional degree master authorization categories.
