The proposed new majors are: agricultural intelligent equipment engineering, land remediation engineering and artificial intelligence. The three new majors are new agricultural and new engineering. It is a forward-looking plan of China Agricultural University Based on our university's top advantages in agronomy, life science and agricultural engineering, which deeply integrates modern information technology and mechanical engineering. It has an important leading significance in the field of new agricultural construction. The major of land remediation engineering is to meet the needs of talents for ecological protection and restoration and space governance in the current ecological civilization construction, and to cultivate senior talents in the field of land remediation and ecological restoration. At present, professionals in this field are extremely scarce. Our university and the Ministry of natural resources (the former Ministry of land and resources) jointly build the College of land science and technology, which has obvious advantages in discipline construction, personnel training, scientific research, employment security, etc. Relying on the advantages of the former automation and computer majors in the fields of artificial intelligence, robot control and engineering application in our university, the artificial intelligence major is an important step in the layout of new engineering major in China Agricultural University to cultivate compound talents who master modern intelligence, automation system technology and related agricultural intelligent control system. The three new majors in our university are all high starting points relying on the traditional advantage disciplines, with strong discipline strength and broad development prospects.
In addition, as one of the first 36 colleges and universities with the qualification to apply for a strong foundation plan, our university has applied for the relevant majors of the strong foundation plan to the superior. After the approval of the Ministry of education, we will timely announce the enrollment policy to the society. The relevant majors of the strong foundation plan adopt the training plan of linking up the master and the master, small class system and internationalization. In recent three years, the lowest scores of science and engineering admission for general majors are about 3900, and that of liberal arts is about 1000; the lowest scores of science and engineering admission for Chinese foreign cooperative education are about 6000, and that of literature and history is 1600-1700.

In addition to the majors related to the strong foundation program, our university has a science experimental class and a national science base to teach top talents in accordance with their aptitude
The two science experimental classes of life science and Information Science in our university are open to nationwide enrollment. Each of the two experimental classes has 50 students. Students can study basic courses in their Freshmen's year. After sophomore year, they can choose any major in the corresponding subject field and insert it into the ordinary class for professional study. In the experimental class, the tutor system and credit system are implemented, and excellent teachers inside and outside the school are invited to attend classes. The proportion of graduate students who are recommended to be exempt from examination can reach 70%. Students graduate mainly for further study.
The school has two national science talent training bases, biology and chemistry. The school has created first-class training conditions for the two bases. The science base of biology has a national teaching demonstration center and the science base of chemistry has a Beijing Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center. The students have solid foundation, wide knowledge and strong scientific research ability. About 60% of the graduates of science base class will continue to study for master's degree.
Professional transfer policy
Agricultural University of China is a very early 985 university which has implemented the policy of loose to professional transfer. In addition to the students who are not allowed to transfer their majors according to the policy, from the second semester, students can apply for the transfer of majors at the beginning of each semester. There are no conditions, no limits on the number of times, no limits on the grade, and multi wish colleges and multi volunteer majors are allowed to apply. The satisfaction rate of changing majors is about 70%, and the number of changing majors accounts for about 15% of the total number of students.
In addition, our University encourages undergraduates who have spare time to take minor courses. At present, the school has 9 minor majors, with about 800 students studying each year. At the same time, as one of the members of the "university teaching community in Beijing Xueyuan Road area", our students can also take public courses and minor courses offered by 21 universities in the "community".
