Currently in the metal silicon market, spot prices remain stable. Looking ahead, the supply side is affected by the widespread cooling in the northern regions and snowfall in some areas, leading to an increase in freight rates. Major production enterprises in Inner Mongolia and Ningxia regions maintain stable production and firm quotations, albeit with slight differences in quotations for the same grade among different manufacturers. Some medium-frequency furnace production enterprises in Inner Mongolia and Shandong regions have not yet started production. Although there are expectations of restocking in powder grinding enterprises in Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, and other regions, due to sufficient current inventory to support normal production, large-scale restocking has not yet been undertaken, and the demand for industrial silicon is still being released.


On the demand side, in the organic silicon market, the price of DMC has shown a stable upward trend today, with the mainstream market transaction price at 15,200-15,600 yuan/ton (net water delivered). Individual plants currently have no order pressure, the market sentiment is positive, and the market is gradually warming up. It is expected that DMC prices will fluctuate within the range in the future. As for polycrystalline silicon, prices remained stable today, with continued improvement in demand for N-type materials, and silicon material companies have the intention to maintain prices.


In general, spot prices of industrial silicon are roughly unchanged from before the Spring Festival. However, as the process of releasing terminal demand after the festival has not significantly improved, spot silicon prices face considerable pressure and may fluctuate narrowly within the range. It is recommended that industry practitioners closely monitor the release of new production capacity of polycrystalline silicon and the resumption of work upstream and downstream.
