Introduction
Epoxy Polyether Silicone Oil (EPSO) represents a groundbreaking advancement in the field of silicone chemistry, offering a unique combination of flexibility, compatibility, and functionality. This double-active silicone epoxy resin intermediate features a central polysiloxane backbone flanked by epoxy-terminated polyether chains. Its epoxy functionality enables cross-linking with amine-based curing agents, making it an ideal additive for enhancing the properties of epoxy resins. Beyond this, EPSO serves as a pivotal intermediate for synthesizing block silicone oils tailored to specific applications.

Technical Specifications & Applications
Our EPSO products are available in three primary variants, each engineered for distinct performance characteristics:

  • IOTA-EO9000: With a viscosity range of 310–360 cs and an epoxy value of 0.20–0.22 mmol/g, it is ideal for synthesizing fluffy, elastic block silicone oils.
  • IOTA-EO11000: Boasting a viscosity of 550–600 cs and an epoxy value of 0.17–0.19 mmol/g, this variant is perfect for creating soft, smooth block silicone oils.
  • IOTA-EO14000: Offering a viscosity of 620–670 cs and an epoxy value of 0.13–0.15 mmol/g, it is designed for ultra-smooth, soft block silicone oil formulations.
    Custom molecular weights (4K–20K) are available upon request, ensuring flexibility to meet diverse customer needs.

  1. Cost-Effective Synthesis: The introduction of hydrophilic polyether segments eliminates the need for expensive ED-series polyether amines, allowing the use of cost-effective D-series amines, fatty amines, and alcoholamines.
  2. Reduced Solvent Usage: Polymerization with organic amines requires only 5%–20% of the solvent mass, leading to lower emissions and higher block silicone oil concentrations.
  3. Enhanced Compatibility: EPSO exhibits excellent compatibility with organic amines, enabling homogeneous reactions in minimal or solvent-free conditions, ensuring consistent product quality.
  4. Tailored Properties: By varying molecular weights, a wide range of block silicone oil textures can be achieved, from fluffy to ultra-smooth.
  5. Improved Hydrophilicity: Quaternized modified EPSO outperforms traditional quaternary ammonium salt-modified silicone oils in hydrophilicity and stability.
