Applications of Phenyl Silicone Oil

Phenyl silicone oil, by introducing phenyl substituents into the polysiloxane chain, endows it with unique performance advantages. In the field of high-temperature lubrication, its remarkable high-temperature resistance allows it to operate stably for extended periods at 250℃, and some products, with the addition of stabilizers, can even function for hundreds of hours at 300-350℃. Therefore, it is widely used in scenarios such as heat treatment baths for metal products and high-temperature heating oils. In the electronics and electrical sectors, phenyl silicone oil, with its excellent electrical insulation and radiation resistance, serves as an ideal liquid damping dielectric fluid for electronic instruments. It also acts as a raw material for LED encapsulation adhesives, with its phenyl content adjusted to meet the refractive index requirements of different power LED encapsulations. In the cosmetics industry, the high refractive index and glossiness of phenyl silicone oil make it a high-quality additive for skincare products and hair conditioners, enhancing their gloss and smoothness.

Applications of Dimethyl Silicone Oil

Dimethyl silicone oil is one of the most widely used silicone oil varieties, with applications spanning multiple industrial sectors. In the electromechanical industry, it is utilized as an insulating medium for motors, electrical appliances, and electronic instruments due to its temperature resistance, arc and corona resistance, corrosion resistance, and moisture resistance. It also serves as a liquid shock absorber and damping material for precision machinery. In the field of defoaming, dimethyl silicone oil, with its low surface tension, good chemical stability, and non-toxicity, is extensively applied in industries such as petroleum, chemicals, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and food processing. For demolding purposes, its non-stick properties with rubber, plastics, and metals make it an effective demolding agent for various product molding processes. Additionally, dimethyl silicone oil can be used as a lubricant for mechanical components operating at high temperatures and as an additive to improve the performance of paints, inks, and other products.

Applications of Vinyl Silicone Oil

The core characteristic of vinyl silicone oil lies in the vinyl functional groups in its molecular structure, which confer good reactivity. In silicone rubber production, vinyl silicone oil is an important base material for high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (HTV) and addition-cured liquid silicone rubber. By combining with crosslinking agents, reinforcing agents, etc., it enables the preparation of silicone rubber products with high strength and good elasticity. In the field of new material preparation, vinyl silicone oil can react with organic materials such as polyurethane and acrylic acid to produce new materials with weather resistance, aging resistance, UV resistance, and enhanced toughness, widely used in coatings, adhesives, and other fields. In the electronics sector, vinyl silicone oil provides sealing functions to protect electronic components from external contamination and mechanical damage, ensuring stable device operation.

Applications of Hydrogen-Containing Silicone Oil

The main application of hydrogen-containing silicone oil lies in its crosslinking and film-forming properties. Under the action of metal salt catalysts, hydrogen-containing silicone oil can crosslink at low temperatures to form a waterproof film on the surfaces of various substrates such as fabrics, glass, ceramics, and metals, making it widely used as a waterproofing agent, anti-sticking agent, and anti-corrosion agent. In the textile industry, the combined use of hydrogen-containing silicone oil emulsion and methyl hydroxyl silicone oil emulsion not only provides waterproofing but also maintains fabric breathability while improving tear strength and friction resistance. In solid silicone rubber production, hydrogen-containing silicone oil acts as a crosslinking agent in the preparation of addition-cured liquid silicone rubber, forming stable Si-C bonds. Additionally, hydrogen-containing silicone oil is also used in paper anti-sticking isolation and metal surface treatment.

Applications of Hydroxyl Silicone Oil

Hydroxyl silicone oil is a linear polydimethylsiloxane with hydroxyl groups at its ends, and its applications mainly focus on silicone rubber processing and surface treatment. In silicone rubber production, low-viscosity hydroxyl silicone oil serves as a structure control agent, effectively controlling the structuralization between the compound rubber and fumed silica, improving processing performance, and extending the storage life of the rubber compound. In surface treatment, hydroxyl silicone oil can be used for waterproofing, softening, and anti-sticking treatments of fabrics, leather, and paper, enhancing the hand feel and usage performance of the products. Furthermore, hydroxyl silicone oil can also act as an intermediate for synthesizing various types of polysiloxanes and as an additive for coatings, inks, and other products to improve their leveling, scratch resistance, and other properties.
