IOTA BJ1000 Phenyl Silicone Oils are a clear, colorless, and odorless polydimethylsiloxane with a high proportion of phenyl groups. This composition supports a practical temperature range of -35 °C to +200 °C, provided that heat-stressing occurs under chemically pure conditions. That combination of thermal range and material consistency makes the fluid suitable for applications where performance boundaries must be clearly understood. The product is positioned for use as a heat transfer fluid, pressure transfer fluid, dielectric in capacitors and transformers, and base fluid of heat-resistant lubricants. Each of these applications benefits from a fluid that can maintain predictable behavior under thermal and operational stress.

Pressure Transfer Applications Require Consistent Fluids

Pressure transfer applications often depend on fluids that can transmit force or maintain system stability without unwanted changes in viscosity, volatility, or chemical behavior. IOTA BJ1000’s dynamic viscosity at 25 °C is 900–1100 mPa.s, which gives it a meaningful body for applications where flow characteristics and fluid consistency matter. Its density at 25 °C is approximately 1.09 g/cm³, and its refractive index at 25 °C is approximately 1.5. These values help form a clearer technical picture of the fluid’s physical identity and handling characteristics.

Heat Transfer Performance Beyond Simple Temperature Resistance

For heat transfer applications, temperature resistance alone is not enough. The fluid must also support efficient thermal exchange and remain stable during repeated operation. IOTA BJ1000 has a thermal conductivity at 50 °C of approximately 0.14 Wm⁻¹K⁻¹ and a specific heat at 25 °C of approximately 1.46 Jg⁻¹K⁻¹. Volatility is less than 1.0% under 5 g/4 h/250 °C conditions, which is a useful indicator for high-temperature environments where fluid loss or degradation should be minimized.

Electrical and Lubrication Applications Add Further Value

As a dielectric in capacitors and transformers, IOTA BJ1000 offers a dielectric constant of approximately 2.9 at 25 °C and 100 Hz, with a dielectric strength of approximately 20 kVmm⁻¹. These characteristics make it relevant for electrical insulation applications where stable performance is required. Its use as a base fluid for heat-resistant lubricants also highlights its potential in high-temperature mechanical systems. In such applications, the fluid must support lubrication performance while resisting the effects of elevated temperatures.

Storage, Monitoring, and Operational Confidence

The flash point is approximately 280 °C, and the ignition temperature is greater than 400 °C. In open systems, the flash point should be checked at least once a year, or more often if operating conditions demand. Storage should follow the product label, and any use beyond the “Best use before end” date should be supported by property verification.
