Ciprofloxacin is the first fluoroquinolones on the market in 1987. As an important medical breakthrough, ciprofloxacin promotes the further research of this new antibiotic. In 1981, Bayer company of Germany developed ciprofloxacin, which has become the most effective fluoroquinolones. It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections.
